I.Family pursued two objectives: (1) to understand the interplay between barriers and drivers towards a healthy food choice as well as physical activity and how these affect the health of children and adolescents; (2) to develop and disseminate strategies to induce changes promoting a healthy dietary behaviour in European consumers, especially children, adolescents and their parents. Methods: The analysis was based on 6768 children who participated in the European IDEFICS/I.Family cohort (T0 2007/2008, T1 2009/2010 and/or T3 2013/2014; mean ages: 6.6, 8.4 and 12.0 years, respectively) and provided at least two measurements of waist circumference, blood pressure, blood glucose and lipids over time. In IDEFICS/I.Family, a total of 16,228 children and their parents took part in up to three physical examinations between 2007 and 2014 and completed questionnaires on medical history, dietary behavior and other aspects of children's life. The present analysis complements the IDEFICS/I.Family cohort profile (5, 6). 2019-12-11 · The present study aims to investigate the longitudinal effects of built environment characteristics in terms of a moveability index on PA of children in their transition phase to adolescence using data of the IDEFICS/I.Family cohort.

CFK-RAPPORT - CORE

We examined associations of common genetic variants and repeated MetS score from early childhood to adolescence in a pan-European, prospective IDEFICS/I.Family cohort study with baseline Epigenetic mechanisms, likewise, regulate circadian rhythms and sleep patterns. In the present study, we aimed to identify circulating microRNAs associated with sleep duration in a subsample of normal‐weight European children/adolescents (n = 111) participating in the I.Family Study. 2012-06-12 Associations of whole blood n-3 and n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids with blood pressure in children and adolescents -results from the IDEFICS/I.Family cohort Maike Wolters, Valeria Pala , Paola Russo, Patrizia Risé, Luis A. IDEFICS/I.Family follow-up study – lifestyle and health. From 2007 to 2016 more than 16,000 participants from 9 European countries participated in the IDEFICS/I.Family study. Families contributed to these large studies and provided important insights for health research. I.Family will do this by re-assessing IDEFICS children and their families, identifying those families that have adopted a healthy approach to food and eating habits and those who have not.
